What is deliberate practice?

The process of encoding information meaningfully through extended practice to improve the individual performance expertise through repetition and refinement (Ericsson, Krampe, & Tesch-Romer, 1993).

What are the four key elements?

  • Set specific goals and strategies.
  • Concentrate on technique.
  • Repeat the task (practice it).
  • Immediate informational feedback
